FEATURED PROJECTS
Wavefront prepared a Green Building Assessment for two new communities in Tonga as part of a disaster management initiative funded by Rocky Mountain Institute and CFAN to provide housing after a devastating tsunami destroyed a number of villages in 2021. Two community master plans were analyzed according to energy efficient community design objectives based on topography, sun angles and wind patterns as well as creating a livable, walkable healthy living environment. Architectural plans were assessed and recommendations made to improve natural cooling of the building interior as well as the useof lower embodied carbon building materials according to the results of the EDGE Green Building Assessment software
Wavefront was the Project Manager for a multi-disciplinary team of architects and engineers who prepared a manual illustrating green construction principles for new homes in Fiji, South Pacific, a project funded by Asian Development Bank. Wavefront was the principal report compiler and illustrator for the 103-page manual that includes objectives, guidelines and illustrations for building siting, roofs, walls and floors that maximize energy efficiency, reduce the carbon footprint, increase resiliency and use building materials with lower embodied carbon.
Wavefront has created landscape architectural designs for eight Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints meeting centres throughout the South Pacific in Samoa, American Samoa, and Vanuatu. Design concepts, cost estimates and tender-ready construction drawings are based on the LDS design protocols, but are modified according to available building material and landscape plants. Landscape design includes planting, stormwater management, fencing, planters, pathways, site grading, retaining walls and playcourts.
