Updating a 30-year old policy required confirmation of existing standards to retain and creating new standards for resilience, sustainability, health and environment.  Wavefront held interactive workshop-style sessions with public and private sector stakeholders on a monthly basis as well as numerous interviews with key stakeholders to compile a set of standards that resolves on-going implementation issues, increasing climate-related threats, new directions in fire services, and availability of building materials in a small island nation.  Winner of the 2017 Canadian Institute of Planners Award of Excellence for innovation due to the focus on sustainability and green building techniques
